Prepare the PC for the Games

Keep the system fast before you run the games

Run a disk cleanup first. How?
  • Double click on My Computer icon
  • Right click on your C: drive.
  • Select Properties and then click on the Disk Cleanup button.
This will remove some unnecessary files on your system so there will be more room for your game.

Run a ScanDisk.
For XP
  • Right click on your C: drive
  • Choose Properties
  • Tools tab
  • Hit the Check Now button
Other versions
  • Start
  • Programs
  • Accessories
  • System Tools
  • ScanDisk
and you'll be all set.

Run Disk Defragmenter

If you perform all of these cautionary tasks before you install a new game onto your computer, the game will run smoother without any freeze ups and you will have a better chance of a clean and proper install.

Microsoft is cutting off any public, technical support and security updates to its customers

They also pose higher security risks to the customers who still use these versions

All users who still use Windows 98, 98SE and ME are urged to upgrade to a higher version

How to Erase the address typed in Internet Explorer

Follow the steps

  • Click the Start button --> Run
  • type 'regedit' click OK
  • The Registery Editor will open




  • Under My Computer
  • Open the HKEY_CURRENT-USER --> Software --> Microsoft --> Internet Explorer --> TypedURLs


  • In the right side of the window you can see the list of name Url1, Url2, etc are the list of all the address
  • Select the entries one below the other and press the 'Del' key and click 'Yes' to accept the delete in the box that appears

On/Off CD AutoRun in Windows XP

How you can turn AutoRun On/Off in Windows XP.

Follow these steps

Goto Start, Run type 'regedit' and select Ok
the system registery will open
Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE by pressing Return or '+' key
then SYSTEM, then CurrentControlSet, then Services and Cdrom
now select AutoRun and double click. Change the value 1 for On and 0 for Off

Exit and Restart
